when he was hit by lightning near the 3500 block of
South Ocean Front Walk (map ) Sunday afternoon.
He was missing for about an hour before he was
found and transported to a Marina del Rey hospital,

"One man has died and at least eight people were injured in a lightning strike during a rare summer
thunderstorm at Venice Beach in Los Angeles , officials
have said. A 20-year-old man taken to Marina Del Rey Hospital was
later pronounced dead , according to the Los Angeles county coroner' s department.
The cause of death was still being determined , a
spokesman said.
